After years of planning, the New Mission Alamo Drafthouse is opening in just a few days! This movie and food hotspot will be similar to the original Alamo Drafthouse in Austin TX, however the San Francisco location will have its own, brand new food and cocktail menus.
For those of you not familiar with the Alamo Drafthouse, it’s a movie theater with assigned seating that serves food and drinks during the movie. Patrons put in their orders before the movie begins, and then stealthy servers bring out orders during the movie.
The food menu has been created by chef Ronnie New (Comstock Saloon, Magnolia Brewpub) and the cocktail menu by barman Isaac Shumway (Tosca Cafe). Food will include items such as a vegetarian beet reuben, featuring smoked beets rubbed with pastrami spice, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese and rye bread from Wise Son’s Deli and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, with spicy fried chicken and housemade pickles on white bread.
