The 15th Annual Jerry Day is an annual civic and cultural event that celebrates one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time and San Francisco native son, Jerry Garcia and his Excelsior roots.
The free all day concert and festival takes place this Sunday at the aptly named “Jerry Garcia Amphitheater” in McLaren Park. Thousands attend each year to enjoy live music from an eclectic mix of performers — including several who played with Jerry in the ’80s and ’90s. The lineup includes Stu Allen & Mars Hotel, Melvin Seals and JGB, and Midnight North.
Jerry Garcia, one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time, the leader of the Grateful Dead, and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, would have been 75 this year.
