The 33rd Annual Fillmore Jazz Festival

We’re confused. Since the 4th of July is next Tuesday, is this a two-day weekend, a three-day weekend, or — wait for it — a four-day weekend? For the lucky ones among us, it might just be the very rare four-day kind of weekend. But for the rest of us, and for now, let’s just focus on Saturday and Sunday.

Another weekend, another jazz festival. This one though is free, outdoors, and the largest of its kind on the West Coast. It’s the 33rd Annual Fillmore Jazz Festival. Each year the event draws over 100,000 visitors over the Independence Day weekend.

According to organizers, from sunup to sundown, visitors can “groove to the sounds” of live music from multiple stages, browse the offerings of over 12 blocks of fine art and crafts, and enjoy gourmet food and beverages. Asian to Cajun, paintings to pottery, old favorites and new directions, the Fillmore Jazz Festival is not to be missed.
