Bay Area Dance Week is a vibrant 10-day celebration of dance featuring hundreds of FREE classes, performances, open rehearsals, and lecture demonstrations. It ends this Sunday, but tons of events are still scheduled to take place this weekend.
This is the 19th annual edition of Dance Week. Organizers say the Bay Area has one of the largest, most active and thriving dance communities in the country. Dance Week provides an opportunity for dance-lovers of all ages and experience-levels to take a grand tour of the many movement styles, including Argentine tango, classical Indian, jazz, hip hop, ballet, traditional hula, fire dance, Samba, modern, Chinese classical, belly dance, aerial dance, West African, contact improvisation, and more.
Because there are so many events throughout the Bay Area, the online event guide can be daunting. But you can search for events by region and event type, and that makes it all much more manageable. To see the Dance Week guide and all that’s taking place this weekend, click here.
