Not to get all geeky on you, but tomorrow is March 14 (3.14) and in San Francisco that means free admission to the Exploratorim on Pier 15 for its 30th annual Pi Day celebration. Pi of course is that never-ending number that begins with 3.14159. It also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday.
Doors open at 10AM. They’ve got lots of Pi-centered events starting around 1PM, and actual pie served at 2:15 in the North Gallery. Doors close at 5PM.
If you’ve never been to the Exploratorium, then you’ve missed something very special. Once located in the Palace of Fine Arts, the Exploratorium now occupies a gorgeous new building on San Francisco’s waterfront. The setting is breathtaking, but what goes on inside is just as captivating. The Exploratorium is, as they put it, “A public learning laboratory exploring the world through science, art, and human perception.”
