It’s been in the works for awhile, and last night Alba Ray’s finally opened. It’s a Cajun and Creole restaurant brought to us by the team from Popson’s and Causwell’s. What’s more, excutive chef and partner Adam Rosenblum once worked for James Beard Award-winning chef Donald Link at Herbsaint in New Orleans, so this should be right in his wheelhouse.
The menu features many of our favorites, including gumbo with chicken, andouille, and crispy okra, oysters, and creolle BBQ shrimp.
The restaurant is located in the former Hapa Ramen space at 2293 Mission Street. It’s open Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m.- 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m.- 2 a.m. (dinner menu offered until midnight, bar food served from midnight- 2 a.m.). Expect lunch in the coming weeks.
