The San Francisco Marathon is back in town this weekend, and if you’re looking to participate you’re going to have an early start – 5:30am to be precise. The SF Marathon is a loop course which takes runners across the City, through many of the city’s stunning iconic landmarks. The race will begin on The Embarcadero and Mission Street.
The marathon is split into two loops – the first commencing at the Embarcadero and ending in Golden Gate Park via Crissy Field and the Golden Gate Bridge. The second loop begins at Golden Gate Park, through the Haight-Ashbury, the Mission ad along AT&T Park before heading back towards The Embarcadero.
For the ultimate challenge runners can partake in the Ultramarathon – a whooping 52.4 mile run! Few have what it takes t0 complete this big task, which begins at midnight Sunday morning before joining the first loop of the marathon. It is certainly a challenge, one that many brave San Franciscans will endure this weekend!
