Lace ‘Em Up On Billy Goat Hill

Art-Monday-Jump-Start-hikeBeacon Trail is only 680 feet long – just over the length of two football fields, but still, according to SFGate, this new path forms a perfect shortcut from Walter Hass Park in Diamond Heights to Billy Goat Hill, and back again.

It can be a bit challenging – there are 120 feet of box steps and the switchbacks you would expect when trails climb hills. The view however makes it all worthwhile, with a spectacular panorama of the San Francisco skyline, the Bay Bridge, and the bay.

The ribbon cutting took place earlier this month, and now that all of that pomp and ceremony is out of the way, the trail is all yours to enjoy!
