If you made it to the Cherry Blossom Festival last weekend you may be looking for something a little different for the weekend ahead. San Francisco’s 9th Annual DogFest comes to town this Saturday, April 16th from 11am-4pm.This event has been held yearly as a benefit for SFUSD McKinley Elementary School, which is a K-5 public school at Castro and 14th Streets. This event caters to everyone in the entire family!
It is the largest dog event of the year in San Francisco so all you animal lovers best not miss out! The event takes place in Duboce Park in the Lower Haight. The highlight of the day will be the “Everyday Dog Show”, where you will catch our furry friends compete for titles such as “Best Costume”, “Best Tail”, and “Best Bark”. It is a free event but if you would like your dog to compete there is a $20 registration fee. It’s not all about the pooches, as there will be obstacle courses, face-painting, carnival games and lots of treats to keep the kiddies entertained!
Another segment of the day is the “Rescue Zone” where you will find dogs who are currently up for adoption. People are welcome to hold and play with the dogs and learn about how to care for your pets properly. The DogFest is sure to be a great day and not to be missed!
