What a run. The Golden State Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in double overtime Friday night, and were one win away from breaking yet another NBA record. No team had ever gone 7-0 on a road trip. And after the Warriors finally lost in Milwaukee on Saturday night, that’s still the case.
Friday’s win proved too taxing, especially when you consider that the Warriors were minus two starters that night. Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes were both out with injuries. The next night the team was simply out of gas.
So now with a record of 24-1 they begin again. Here’s the good news: The Milwaukee Bucks have had a habit of stopping winning streaks, and in the past every time they ended a 12+ game winning streak, the other team went on to win the NBA Championship. We definitely like the sound of that!
