Crab Season Might Be Delayed

Monday-Jump-Start

Hope you had a great Halloween! November has arrived, and that means the holidays are just around the corner. In a typical year, that also means Dungeness crab season is about to open. In fact, the season was supposed to start this coming Saturday. But we’ve learned that a toxic algae bloom in the Pacific may delay the start this year.

Everything is up in the air at the moment. Test results that might shed more light on the situation are expected midweek. We’ve endured drought for years, we’re bracing for El Nino, and now it appears we might be deprived of fresh Dungeness crab for awhile or possibly for the entire season?! Enough already!
